Disaster Condition Report
The impact of recent natural disasters across parts of the United States may have caused material damage to the condition of residential properties. For financial institutions, the impact on market value and property condition may create potential collateral risk for new applications and loans in portfolio.
Stewart Lender Services offers a comprehensive disaster condition report to help our customers assess property damage resulting from major storms or natural disasters. Completed by an experienced professional with local market knowledge, this report includes a physical inspection of the subject property, multiple photographs and neighborhood condition, all supported by property level data and market trending information.
Originators will need to identify which properties that have suffered damage. The damaged properties may impact the loan amount, underwriting approval and appraisal accuracy.
Property damage, deferred maintenance and repairs may have an impact on loan performance. Our reports will help servicers and investors understand the extent of disaster damage to properties currently held in their portfolio.
